(Breathe, Anesthesiologists Hymn....., )
When I leave the house to go to work, I always take something to read during the case.
Most of the time, we are looking at the pretty uneventful munbers on the minitior
sitting in the very comfortable chair. As soon as my eyes are on the reading material,
my ears are open to beeping sounds of patient's heart. Have we ever gotten off the chair?
Of course, the King; surgeon's request makes us get up quickly. "Raise the table!, It's tight.
... etc."
It seems pretty boring. It is not always so peaceful. Horror and terror is roaming
around us in every case. It is just not happening so often that we quit the job.
We believe in Murphy's law. We just pray to be lucky. We know "It is better to be lucky than
good."

It was about a month since I started my practice.
I was giving anethesia for a procedure involved quite a
bit of bleeding. Blood pressure was low. I got up and
asked the surgeon, "Bleeding stopped?" I can not remember
his name now. But he started to laugh and I wondered why.
Later he told me that you said "Breathing stopped?"
Being a girl chaser, he asked me if it is OK to write this to Playboy
journal. I OK'd it. But it was turned down because they felt it is
too racial.
Korean anesthesiologist often mispronounce words that make
other people laugh. When the patient wake up, we often say,
"Open your mouth." But it sounds like "Open your mouse."

Supervising CRNA's can be a big help physically and financially, but it's
a threat to job security for the MD anesthesiologists.
Thank you Dr. 황.

은퇴 하고 나서 보니 마취의사로 일하면서 격었던 대부분의 무사평온했던 케이스 들보다
아찔했던 케이스들만 생각 납니다.
지금도 가끔 악몽을 꿉니다.
Hm.... You look too comfortable to me.
It doesn't look fair
