A deer doe abandoned one of her twin fawns, the fawn had injured leg and could not keep up with the mother. I do not support keeping wild animals as a pets, but this was special situation. The baby deer was healed and released back to her real mother.
Update: The doe and two her fawns is still around, we seen them through the summer and the autumn. Here is follow up video one year after release:
Here is few videos how she learn to drink milk and bathing:
I am thankful for every single person who liked, shared and left a comment. I didn't expect this story to become so popular. I am sure that any of us with a little bit of a conscience about our existence, with love for the nature and animals would do the same. |

A very interesting story, WM. One of my problems with deers is that those guys are eating most of my good looking flowers in my yard. Those guys are so dumb that They are killing flowers by pulling the roots out from the flower beds. We are fed up with deers now.
Despite my problems with Maryland deers, I watched the above story to the end. The doe was cute. I hope it does well with the mother.

Only last week, a deer came and ate up all the flowers of newly planted petunias.
Not even a single flower survived the attack.
As the flower stems are stronger, as a deer eats the flower, they pull the entire plants out.
Our village HOA says to live together with them, preaching that our yards were once their homes.
Anyway, if you saw the video, the above rancher (or farmer) didn't have any flower beds in his house.
He is obviously smarter than us. ㅎ, ㅎ, ㅎ.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful story and
the way handling life so preciously.
It is indeed moving.
We had a family of three deers in our backyard the other day.
I had the same problem with flowers being eaten up by deers.
We stopped planting flowers, instead buy pots with geraniums, etc
and place them close to the house. They haven't eaten them so far.
I had more problems with raccoons which caused damage to the roof
costing me thousands of dollars.
We've caught three of them so far.

A fairy tale like story, slow and innocent, almost poetic.
Especially loved watching the end part.

Beautiful story. But,...
I once hit a deer at night on an expressway. It just jumped in on my way and my car was totaled.
I spray deer and rabbit repellant around my flower bed in the backyard. Otherwise, my flowers
are constantly messed up. I think there are too many deer around. Nice to look at, but sometimes
menacing to live with.
Wishing that the world is as innocent and kind as the video above,
and all we do always get happy endings like this....
