Many golfers think that they have to hit down on the golf ball.

It often causes "over the top" motion. Divot is the result of an "up and down" swing plane.

To create an "up and down" plane, your weight should be on the front part of your foot

in the address position. Your swing must make a nice inclined circle that has 

up and down and a flat plane depending on the length of the club.

The circular energy will propel the ball forward up in the air.

Any lateral motion will deform the circle which will result in

ugly unwanted shots. The head will stay behind the ball if you 

make the proper circle. Your right side must stay quiet until 

your left side drags the right. So the position of your right

foot and the leg on the finish of your swing is the result of 

your good swing. It is not the result of active motion.

Trying to see your right heel on your downswing by turning your head backward

is a very good tip. "Maintain your hip angle" and " stay behind the ball at the impact"!

I tried the idea myself. This thing actually works.

In driver (tee shot), the ball goes up higher and gets a longer distance,

and longer rolls. It works well in other clubs too.
