Meet Russian Oligarchs

Americans might be more familiar with another one of Prigozhin’s businesses: the Internet Research Agency, which employed a troll army that began by supporting Russia’s 2014 invasion of Crimea, before turning its efforts to influencing the 2016 US presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. Prigozhin and the Internet Research Agency were indicted by a US grand jury in 2018 for interfering with the election, and he was added to an FBI wanted list in 2021.

Oligarchy

Oligarchy (from Greek ὀλιγαρχία (oligarkhía); from ὀλίγος (olígos) 'few', and ἄρχω (arkho) 'to rule or to command')^[1][2][3] is a form of power structure in which power rests with a small number of people. These people may or may not be distinguished by one or several characteristics, such as nobility, fame, wealth, education, or corporate, religious, political, or military control. 

Throughout history, oligarchies have often been tyrannical, relying on public obedience or oppression to exist. Aristotle pioneered the use of the term as meaning rule by the rich,^[4] for which another term commonly used today is plutocracy. In the early 20th century Robert Michels developed the theory that democracies, like all large organizations, tend to turn into oligarchies. 이미 권력은 시장에 넘어갔고, 재벌과 발전국가(Developmental State) 연합으로 성장한 막대한 경제권력은 정치권력이 되었으며 사회 전반의 민주주의를 유린하고 있다. 누구의 통제도 받지 않는 이 권력은 시장 규칙들을 바꾸기 시작했다. ‘고용없는 성장’과 ‘양극화’, 그에 따른 ‘불평등’은 더욱 심화되었고, 총수(일가) 지배력을 유지한 채 지주회사체제로 전환한 재벌들은 3세 승계체제를 더욱 공고화했다. 2012년 재벌과 대(大) 자본에 의한 성과독식, 부(富)의 사유화 체제를 개혁해야 한다는 국민들의 경제민주화 열망은 여지없이 짓밟히고 말았다. 그 중심에는 항상 삼성 재벌, 아니 더 정확하게 말해서 이재용에 대한 경영권 승계라는 프로젝트가 작동하고 있다.

Where this whole thing headed for?

Some of these are really good news.

After all, Ukraine may survive and Russia may fail.

To make it happen, the U.S. should help Ukraine, not for the sake of Ukraine,

but to show Red China the superiority of the U.S. over Russia

and to get rid of Putin and Xi, the worst devils among the humanity of the world.

For a change, the U.S. may be fighting the most worthwhile war this time.

I think U.S. should propose "League of Democracy" against autocratic countries in the world. 

UN is dysfunctional because of China and Russia. The situation in Ukraine is not limited to

European countries but it affects all democratic countries in the world. The world needs an orgainzation

that can stand up forcefully against evil minded autocracy like Russia. Basically U.S. and European

countries have given up Ukraine and watching what's going on while they are trying to prevent 

Russians from invading other former Soviet countries. But unexpectedly Ukrainians resisted against

Russian attack rather well so far, and Russian military is poorly orgainized and has very low fighting 

spirit.
