April 18, Sunday, 9 AM, Partly Sunny
Where do I go from here?
Everyday opens up
like an expanse of the green pasture.
I thank God every moment
I'm still alive and
surrounded by my family and
all the people I love.
Somebody in the recent issue of Readers Digest
suggested that it is good to count
all your blessings everyday and
maintained that it will keep you healthy.
Henri Nouwen suggested that
you must have the faith
like that of the flyer in the circus ring
in his catcher, namely, "As the flyer swings
away from the pedestal board,
she somersaults and
turns freely in the air
only to be safely grasped by the catcher."
The flyer is me, and the catcher my God.
Oh, I wish I had that kind of faith.
Yet that is what I must have.
Ah! it is the early spring!
All those familiar flowers everywhere popping up.
All those flowers and greens
before the shadow of the last winter
clears away in my heart.
All those flowers and greens
before my heart is ready to greet you all.
Where is the excitement in my heart?
Where are all those young friends
full of enthusiasm
when the spring is already here
to greet your heart and your friends?
There is still stillness in the air.
There is still stillness in my heart,
perhaps as a leftover from the last winter.
I thank God every moment
for HIS generosity and love
for not forgetting to bring the spring
to wake me up once again
to make me smile once again
to bring back the trace of excitement
to look forward to the season of plenty
as HE did year after year
as long as I remember.
Oh, God,
I thank YOU.
I thank YOU.
I thank YOU.
