I got this story translated into English but found it was originally written in Korean so that I took Google
translation to retrieve its feeling only the Korean language could bring; Here's "A Nurse and an Apple."
We miss such warm human touch!
Enjoy the weekend.

I do not fear the end of my life, but I fear most of the end of the relationship.
Occasionally, the picture of the last day comes to my head and the sorrow hits my heart.

Just like this story, most of the human unhappiness comes from the own self-pride.
It is truly a very stupid weakness of human minds. It is a sign of lower self-esteem.
"Anyone can peel and cut an apple, why me? I am a great fabulous and glamorous RN.
Why should I peel the damn apple right now?" That's what she told her at the moment.
That was the baseline of the unhappiness, totally created solely by herself
by the instinctive action of her lower self-esteem.
Generally, civilized people live on self-pride and then get upset for nothing
when their pride gets hurt. I guess we can live much happier if we stay away from self-pride.
In a way, this story is not about a beautiful emotional deed of a dying person.
The moral of the story is that self-pride is just something useless but to be regretted.
If you read the story above deeply line by line,
you can see that it's not just for an emotional tenderness.
If you read it again, you will find the line, not only one I quoted but many.
There, I learned something not to be arrogant no matter what I am.
Just my thought... Nobody has to agree with me.

How interesting to have such opposite feeling! I never thought of the nurse through this text like WM but only the couple. Indeed, I was rather occupied to the last moment this poor couple shared together!
I can share their helpless feelings to each other on their last moment they were fully aware, with my empathy as same human being, no more no less!
So sad!
