윗 사진은 SNU MC 65 졸업 40주년 기념때 2005년 10월에 찍은 사진입니다.

밤중에 홍두깨라고 급짝한 소식에 펄쩍 놀랐네.
졸업 40주년때 옛날 의대 구정에서 만나 회포를 풀고 기념 여행도 같이 간적이 마지막이구려.
고등학교는 다르지만 1년 선배인데도 야자함을 기꺼히 받아드리는 넓은 도량. 그 젊은때에도---.
무척이나 함께 산 등반을 햇지. 내야 항상 그의 뒷 궁기만 쫓아 다녓지만--.
키가 싱겁게 훌쩍 크고, 희여 멀쭉 하게 씩 웃는 웃음은 잊을수 없구려.

메구게 와서는 만나지도 못햇지만 다른 사람과 다르게 귀국하더니만---,
1년에 아들 둘을 낳는 기술도 있고---, 쌍둥이 아닌 같은해 1월, 12월에--

그처럼 건강한것이 부러웟는데---,
40주년 졸업 기념 여행시 부인이 높은 '마이산'을 못 올라 갈때, 나는 작취미성으로 못 올라가니,
함께 뒤로만 다니게끔 하여, 끔찍이도 부인을 위하더니만---,

흙으로 나서 흙으로 되돌아 간다는 우리 인생이지만 너무 일찍이 훌쩍 갑짜기
떠나는 것은 야속 하기도 하오. 많은 아쉬움을 어찌 하려고---, 그 많은 친구 하며---,
그 사랑하던 부인과 자식들을 어이 하고---,

평안히 쉬소서. 한원민 바치오.

아침에 일어나 webpage를 열자 題字를 보고 놀라운 마음에
열지를 못하고 잠시 망설였었읍니다.

도대체 우리들중의 누구란 말인가!
요즈음 주위의 친지들 두분이 유명을 달리했는데 아무리
인생무상이라  하지만---.

조광호 동문은 재작년인가 마침 귀국했던 한재은 동기 내외와
많은 동기분들과 동창회관 중국집에서 반갑게 만나 회식 했던
것이 마지막이 되었군요.

늘상 말수는 적었어도 humorous 하신 분이었고 등산,스키,골프
등 athletic 하신분이 었는데 무었이 급해 이렇게 서둘러 가시는지.

이슬픈 소식을 접하고 몸둘바를 모르겠고 애통해 하실 Mrs.조와
가족들에게 심심한 조의를 표하고 삼가 광호형의 영전에 명복을
빌겠읍니다.   규정부부

항상 말이적고, 삼가며, 생각이 깊으신 perfect gentleman 이셨읍니다.
20여년전에 James Town에서 사실때 그분댁에서 하룻밤을 지낸적이 있었지요.
Mrs.조와 내사람이 고등학교 동기도 되고해서 이런말 저런말 밤늦도록 나눈 기억이 생생합니다.

덕이 많고 마음씨 고운분이라서 하느님께서 더 일찍 부르셨던가요?
믿기지 않는 슬픈 소식에 애통하며,  광호형의 명복을 빌면서,
부인과 가족들께 심심한 조의를 전합니다.

It appears that our friend suffered a sudden cardiac death as Tim Russet did recently.
Over 40% of people who develop acut coronary occlusion suffer sudden cardiac death due to
sudden onset ventricular fibrillation in less than 10 minutes. Simply they pass out and die.
This sudden cardiac death remains as a No. 1 challenge in Cardiology.
We have figured out how this happens, but haven't quite figured out
how to prevent effectively this from occuring yet
although we do have preventive measures which
have made a progress in decreasing the incidence
of the sudden cardiac deaths.

When we examine the coronary arteries of adults, we find
most of them have atherosclerotic plaques, small and
large. Some of these plaques become unstable with thin fibrous capsule,
which are prone to crack and rupture.
We call these plaques "vulnerable plaque".
Any one of these vulnerable plaques can crack, fissure or rupture,
immediately followed by clotting or thrombosis, resulting in acute coronary occlusion.

These vulnerable plaque rupture can be triggered by all kinds of stresses
including smoking, which increase
catecholamine level and coronary spasm.
Aside from good life style consisting of good diet, exercise, etc,
the only known medication known to
stabilize the vulnerable plaques is statins such as Lipitor, and
the only commonly used medication to prevent or
slow down the clotting after the rupture of the vulnerable plaque is aspirin.

Statins prevent heart attacks anywhere from 20 to 40%. Aspirin does so less. 
This is why you see so many American adults are taking the statins and aspirin.
The benefits of statins and aspirin have been proven
beyond any doubt in numerous double blind mega trials.
